Multi - Instrumentalist Composer
“The Last Man”, or “The last Laugh” as its known in english, is about the unraveling of an old man’s life after he loses his job at an upscale hotel.  It is almost impossible to watch because it is so tragic. The film employs many now common camera techniques for the first time, such as the zoom in.
The scene I chose is when the man first learns that he is being fired. starting when he reads the curt and impersonal  notice of termination.
Composing the music to this one really taught me a lot about form. Check out this entry in my blog about the thought process behind this piece.
I also used the banjo for this one, mostly because I am now obsessed with pushing it into new and exciting territory.  It is tuned to a major 7th chord with a doubled third and no fifth.
Nosferatu - Somnambulist Dream
Faust - Mephisto's Shadow
